Another bright and sunny day. The race was at 9.30am and 44 lined up……yes I was 44th after yesterday’s issues. Track Club did well to sort the car in time, considering that the engine was on its last legs. I got a slow start and consequently got stuck behind a 2-11 which raced away from me coming out of the corners. The driver was braking a lot earlier than me so I caught him going into the corners but this killed my exit speed as I had to slow down more than ideal. My race finished 500m before the chequered flag when my engine destroyed itself. My final classification was 39th, 12 of 15 production class cars.

The bonus point is that I clocked a 1 minute 51 seconds lap which is 3 seconds quicker than my best. Considering that I was being compromised into the quicker corners and I didn’t drive to my best, I expect a better showing when the new engine goes into the car. Meanwhile I shall be racing the “spare” car (purple) which has less power and is not ideally set up yet.
